How to brief a web studio (and get R13,500 of value from R13,500)
Published 2026-09-11 · Updated 2026-09-14 · 6 min
The quality of your brief is the quality of your site. A one-page prompt we wish every South African owner sent.
Studios do not fail only because they are sloppy. They fail because the brief was a logo pack and 'make it pop'. Here is what to send Client Found — or anyone you hire.
Write these six lines
- ▸Who you sell to, in a city they recognise.
- ▸The sentence you want on the first screen.
- ▸What should happen next (call, WhatsApp, book, buy).
- ▸Proof you already have (photos, numbers, reviews).
- ▸Pages you know you need, and pages you are unsure about.
- ▸The date it must be live, and which package you think you are.
Send the ugly stuff
The current site. The competitor you resent. The Facebook comments that explain what customers actually ask. Those are more useful than a Pinterest board of French furniture brands.
Decide who signs
If three partners all have a favourite shade of blue, the timeline dies. One decision-maker. We will still listen to the room; we will not design by majority vote.
A clear brief is how Starter stays R6,500 and Flagship stays R20,000 — instead of a wandering project that feels like a salary.
Paste those six lines into our contact form. That is a brief. We will answer with a package, not a questionnaire.
